If a separate branch was created, what would the Space Force be more like, Star Wars or Star Trek?

The correct answer is "Starship Troopers." I mean that one already shows up on our reading lists periodically so it's obviously influencing senior leaders.

I think Star Trek. Star Trek is based more on actual theories.

Neither, you should read Robert Heinlein's, Starship Troopers. Disregard the movies which are lame and have little similarity with the book. It spells it all out. I have seen it on several Army Commander's reading Lists and the USMC Commandant's as well. Great detail on duties and responsibilities of Officer's.

Anyone remember "Space: Above and Beyond"? Pretty much like that (and why can't that tv show get on Netflix or Hulu?)

If we come out with an actual space force I think it would look something like the Game Halo the UNSC Space Navy and Marine Corp.

I definitely think it would be more Star Wars than Star Trek.
