If any part of the Bible is proven to be untrue does that make the entire book suspect?

no, but it is irrelevant. Often we don't fully understand something and that makes it seem untrue. Also, there are lots of the book that is figurative, and lots that is literal, and it sometimes is difficult to tell the difference. Then, some people expect the Bible to be literal in it's entirety.

Capt Gregory Prickett But is it true? If it isn't true then why do we acknowledge it. Wouldn't we be better off with the Thomas Jefferson Bible?

When has anything in the Bible been proven to be untrue? I think a lot of people do not understand how some of the things in the Bible were written so their interpretation gets skewed. The Bible is the inspired word of God, and God does not make mistakes. We as humans are very flawed and are prone to make mistakes just by being alive. God created the perfect world for us and Adam and Eve screwed it up for us, I can't wait to meet Adam and kick him in his backside for that. The good news though is that once we depart this life, we will not have to worry about sin and misinterpretations, blaming others, and guilt, and,,,, you get the point.

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “if you have faith and do not doubt", those last 3 words are what gets a lot of us every time, because we do have a level of doubt that is keeping us from our miracle, our promotion, our (fill in the blank). Also if it is not of a pure heart or is sinful in nature, naturally one would not expect for what you are asking for to manifest itself.

The four gospels are four different men's interpretation of what happened in that period. That is the beauty of those four books, they mostly read the same and contain the same stories, but you can see the educational difference in the writers and their interpretations of everything that happened. If you would put four of us together for a year and then told us to write about what happened in that year, I am quite sure our stories would be quite similar, but we would have our own take on matters that happened that year because we are not all wired to think alike in all matters. We would be nothing but robots if we were and we would be pretty boring to each other.

John was telling the story from his perspective. Again, it is the interpretation of four very different people. It is the message that counts, Jesus is risen! Now, it appears you like to argue on this topic (the Bible), but it is not good to argue if the person you are arguing with has no intension of of reasoning but only wants to point out what they perceive is flaws in the Word. I pray you are close to Jesus and His kingdom this day sir and that He blesses you and your family and keeps you safe during the shaking that is going on in our land today. Amen.

I was not being condescending with my remarks in any way, I treated you the same way I do all people who want to argue about Jesus, the Bible, or God, I do what I am supposed to do and that is pray for you, which I have done and will again, as soon as I hit the send button. Have a great day sir.

No. I would suggest you check out the Jefferson Bible. Thomas Jefferson took it upon himself to edit out all the magic and miracle stuff from the Bible, leaving the morality tales and parables. He felt the Bible was a wonderful source for such things, just needed to lose the other stuff.
