If Army policy changes to permit service by transgender/intersex personnel, what accommodations should leaders consider?

The SECDEF and SEC Air Force have both stated publicly that they are open to the possibility. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2014/12/10/air-force-chief-suggests-transgender-ban-may-eventually-be-lifted/

SSG (Join to see). No problem . . . AR 40-501 was based on American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 3rd Edition ( DSM-3 ) that has long since been superseded by DSM-5 that no longer classifies homosexuality and/or transgender people as mentally ill. AR 40-501 only needs to be updated to be more consistent with the evolution of medical diagnostic and treatment practice over many years. Warmest Regards, Sandy
