SSG Ryan R. - I would vote for concrete shoes as you suggested, however I feel all the "hot-air" that we have been fed from this administration over the last 7+ years probably hasn't been used up yet and they wouldjust use what's left to over come the density and weight of the concrete, thus, floating their sorry asses to the surface.

Like everyone else has said, I don't think he'll keep anyone except maybe the full-time White House staff and Secret Service. All the Czars, hair stylists, dog groomers, and Michelle's entourage will all be out the door. Instead, Donald Trump will appoint subject matter experts from industry, education, science, technology, and the military. Not college professors with no practical experience. Not other community organizers and activists. Real professionals who are experts on the economy, healthcare, the environment, and international affairs. Just as he has done in the business world, he will seek the advice of the experts. I am really looking forward to it!!

When has anybody that has been qualified served in any president's cabinet those positions are just favors to friends and cronies.

Are you really putting this on line. Think about your comments. They only loosers are the ones missing the point. Everything is screwed up. We rally need change now.
Why would anyone want to continue the train wreck we are on.

Actually an interesting concept in this question.

Lets look at a hypothetical Trump win in November. (let's leave out the probability of that happening)

At face value you would think that nobody who served under Obama would want to serve under Trump and the feeling would be mutual.

On the other hand I can see some (not many) who have a strong sense of duty wanting to stay on either to ease a transition or because they think they might be better than whoever Trump would nominate in their place.

As for whether Trump would have them, it depends on whether President Trump would be anything like the candidate Trump we've seen thus far. The candidate has built his popularity on making rash judgments that many consider foolish. But since locking up the GOP nomination he's since dialed back his crazy level and backpedaled on several issues. The question is is the Trump we are seeing now merely pandering to the Independents and disaffected Democrats or is this more of the "Real" Trump (which is what he's currently saying).

Agree. Look at former Secdef Robert Gates... he was a man with a sense of duty. Ultimately he was shuffled out (or decided his time had come). I have heard his book is a worthwhile read.

As for the "candidate" Trump vs the "Real" Trump... I have seen several articles about this and many say behind the scenes he is thoughtful, listens, communicates well, and is willing to change his position when presented with compelling reasons to do so. He just doesn't suffer fools or political correctness very well. I think that his business success backs this up. I believe that toxic leaders are much less apt to survive in the corporate world then they are in the military.

Typically incoming Presidents replace the outgoing administration's cabinet with one of their own choosing so it is unlikely that any current members would be asked to stay on.
