I failed first apft at ALC but passed the second. Only counseling I got. Am I going to get a marginal 1059? Also can my unit use that apft to remove my p status? Yes NCOs aren’t suppose to fail. I went from a 180 score to a 220 magically on my 2nd one?

You will only receive a marginal if you failed the retest. You won't lose your P status because you won't be flagged.

I just found out that the school uploaded the failed one onto my erb so my erb still says my promotion mos but ppw says I am no longer eligible and I am not recommended for promotion

SGT (Join to see) are you sure it was to school? APFT and weapons qual is now uploaded through DTMS, and prior to that it was emilpo. Both of these are unit-level systems.
Simply take your 1059 with your PT score on it to your training room and have them upload your score, or ask the school house for a copy of your successful APFT.

If you were not flagged due to the APFT failure then no. You passed a record APFT while in the training house and thus graduated. You will not lose promotable status.

You should not get a marginal on the 1059, but that is up to the course manager. As for the unit removing your promotable status, since both tests are for record, the answer is technically yes, if they knew about the first one before you took the second one. However, if after the fact you most recent test of record is a go, so they should not.

Bust your tail and do the best you can on the course. 1059s with negative comments on them follow you for a long time.

If I failed my initial APFT at ALC, but passed the second, can my unit use the initial failure to remove my promotable status?

Claiming your score magically changed implies you were graded unfairly during the first APFT.
Did your score improve because you improved solely on the event you failed during the first APFT, or did you improve your score in other events, also?

SGT (Join to see) Acknowledged. Bottom line is you will complete the course.
Do units still give every Soldier a diagnostic APFT just prior to them leaving for school?
If so, and you did well on that one, if your promotable status is removed, they will likely send you to the board again. There are several folks on here who are smarter on this than I, as my info is over a decade outdated.

If you passed the second try, you won't probably receive an Excellent on the 1059, but as long as that is the only problem , you should get a good 1059. The unit might not be happy, but probably won't go as far as the (P) removal. You need shine for them for some time.
