Took the cryptological linguist job when I enlisted instead of Security Police. I might have actually stayed active for 20 instead of getting out and going in the Guard.

I wouldn't do anything different. I learned valuable life lessons, had life long experiences, got new brothers, and I loved my job. I am who I am today because of my military experiences.

I would have stayed in. My first wife was the reason I got out. She went nuts when I went to the Philippines. I have Paper work to prove it.

I got an ROTC scholarship awarded to me after I had been in a little over a year. I transferred to my unit and decided to decline my scholarship and stay on active duty. I was lazy. I just didn't want to do what it took. I would change that if I had a do over.

I'd have enlisted sooner and stayed longer, but really have no complaints. The honor of serving with the men I served next to has made me who I am, and has set the highest bars of standards to hold everything else to.
