If someone asked what could you have done differently in your military career, what would you have chosen?

Affirmative action screwed me out of E-6, so I decided it was not for me, being young I Let my ego get in the way or I would have been a lifer.

I would would of opened a bar off base

I would had had a different MOs, I would had been a cook, instead if leaving the Army as a Signal WO i would had been a food Service WO. If that had happened I would have a show on the Food Network called "How to feed an Army"

Air Force Survival Specialist. I was a MP and couldn't get out of the field because they were short MP's.

Nothing.....I did 3 years as an AD Army 11B, 10th MTN. One deployment to Iraq, a lot of it sucked and I dealt with some really shit people but also some great ones. It was an adventure, I got a chance to do my part for the Red White and Blue, but when the time came to ETS with an Honorable Discharge I ran with it. I could see in 2010, that the Army was starting to enter a fucked up period ,many of the E-5's and E-6's with numerous deployments that I respected were getting out, they told me "dude just ETS shits getting fucked"

I would never have told anyone about the nightmares and the nin sleep I was having when they sent me stateside from Iraq. I would have kept my mouth shut and suffered in silence if I knew then what I know now.
