Your recruiter will be able to do a telephonic verification and/or have the high school write a letter confirming that you graduated; otherwise it will be up to your unit to retain you. then your unit can write a letter saying that they wish to retain you regardless of the circumstances.

An email from the school admin stating you graduated should be enough. When you beach from AIT take your diploma to your PAC section or S1 and have it recorded. I used statements from school admins a couple times with no issue.

I was split op, graduated HS 23 May, and shipped to AIT 25 May. They did not have my HS diploma when the orders were cut and I did not give it to anyone before shipping. Granted this was in 1993.

If someone does not have their High School diploma, can they affect them having orders for AIT? (Split Training Option)?

Nope, It will not affect your orders. Just make sure that you get the Diploma and give a copy to your recruiter and/or first gaining unit after you graduate.

Never earned your diploma, or just don't have it available?
Your recruiter needs to show that you completed high school, and the easiest way to do that is by uploading a copy of your diploma into your record. If you don't have your diploma, they can also get a copy of your transcripts that shows you graduated.

If you never finished high school, that's a huge problem. I don't think you're going to AIT in that case.

SSG (Join to see) - I was under the impression that for several years now if you didn't graduate high school they wouldn't even take you, or is that just the Marines that have this policy?

LCpl Benji Smith This is true. The split option program is only available to juniors in high school, though, so I limited my response with that in mind. A more accurate answer would be that the recruiter has to upload proof of education equal to a high school diploma.

You can ship without having transcripts from your High School. As the Operations SGT I had to get the transcripts from the Soldier to send to Career counsellor. Before they cut orders to ship the Soldier.

You could request a transcript of you grade which will reveal that you did earn enough credits to graduate in lieu of the physical diploma itself. That seems weird though, at the high I teach at when they walk the stage they get an empty hold for the diploma but after the ceremony they go get the actual diploma to put in the holder. Never heard of a high school not handing out the diploma on the night of graduation.
