My contract end in 2021, i recieve under honorable from the va benefits on ebenfits. But on Veteran indetification card and the veteran affairs annual statement it both say i got discharge as honorable? so which is which?

If I understand your question correctly I would say you have an honorable discharge. I was discharged after 11 years and 3 months due to a medical. I still had 2 years of my enlistment left, but I was given an honorable discharge.

What does your discharge say from the military, the VA does not discharge you. Thank you for your service.

That paper you are referring to must be your DD Form 214, and your Character of Service—AKA type of discharge is on the DD Form 214, sounds like your DD Form 214 indicates an Honorable discharge. The 214 is the official document source for your type of discharge, or character of service. Hope this helps, I m am not 100% certain of your question.

PFC Tuan Trang - so you have not attended AIT but are still a drilling reservist (i.e. You go to Battle Assembly on the weekend and AT every year). I suspect that they classified you as honorable since you are still in.

ahh.. that makes sense because when Trang completed Basic and AIT, or IET and then transferred to reserves he had 66 days of active duty and received a DD Form 214 for that period of active duty service. Which was an honorable period of service.

P.S. I think, currently, the only time a Servicemembers receives a DD Form 214 is when they separate from Activity Duty, and IET is considered AD time. That's why Trang's VA record shows a period of honorable service, which would be reflected in eBenefits, and indicated on Veteran I.D.
