If we could not recognize John the Baptist as the returning Elijah, how in the world will you recognize Jesus at His return?

I personally believe there will be no doubt in anyone as to whether or not it's truly him when he returns. If there's doubt then I feel it's likely a false Jesus. When it comes to the true Christ our eyes will see him for who he is as the son of God.

Hmmmm. He was here and His Words known by all yet not understood even by those that claimed the knowledge of God.
The teachers.
Would you write an all encompassing Op. Order that the enemy would understand if it got into their hands?
Yeah, God neither.
That's exactly why most will miss the boat, in the hands of those that only see literally, the Bible is personal lessons learned.
If you are awaiting Jesus riding on a cloud, you've missed the boat.
He is here.
You will only notice if you understand true meanings of His teachings.
That's why He said you search the scriptures because you think you will find me.

Whom knows the word of God better than any?
Satan.
Used Gods Words in the garden with a slight twist confounding Eve's knowledge.
Right?
It's not a group event.
The last days are your own, not the world as we think of nor described.
It is all you. No one else.
What is your Babylon???

Someone once told me that we all will meet Jesus at some point in our life on Earth. He will present us with a decision and we will be judged on what we do. I am not sure if I believe this, but if it were true, I feel that I failed.
An elderly homeless man startled my wife and I one morning when we woke up to him sleeping outside out bedroom window (our apartment is partially below ground and the window was open, so he could see us in our bed). We couldn't close the window because of his belongings, so my wife ran out of the room and we closed the door. A few hours later I went into the room and he was awake and looking at me. I think he was going to ask me for something, but I instead asked him if he would mind moving away from our window as he is making us uncomfortable. He got up and said, "you will never see me again." He said it in such a way, with such disappointment in me.
I immediately thought, "what if this were Jesus, come to me to see if I would offer him food, or a warm shower? Instead, the man got up and walked away before I could think twice. I have never seen him since..
Were that my judgement, I could do nothing, but beg for forgiveness. To speak out what was truly in my heart and what I failed to offer as a neighbor and Christian..

Scripture is pretty clear and it will be very obvious when Christ returns. The trick is to recognize Hiim in the world today! To see him in the panhandler on the street. In the car broken down by side of the road. In the mother struggling to feed and cloth children. In the thirsty looking for a drink. In the soup kitchen, in the prison, on the street filthy and dirty. "As you have done unto the least of these my brothers you have done unto me"

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.”

Is it?
If we believe Jesus is coming in the clouds?
Not so clear.
Literal describing spiritual.
The Bible is the perfect OP ORDER.
Operation Self Rescue, by His Word not our works.
If you don't understand the mission, you will not succeed in it.
In the Army we have CALL, Center of Army Lessons Learned.
Bible is better and personal on every level.
It is our Center for lessons learned by previous mistakes.
We still are enept just like the scribes and Pharisees of times past.
They knew the Word.
They didn't Understand, nor do many leaders of the church today.
Lessons learned?
Hardly.

The anti Christ will tickle your ears with unbelievable accuracy, literally taking the sheep with him.
He will confuse the masses just as the Pharisees had great knowledge but spiritual ineptness.
Many will cleave to the preciousness of his knowledge, yet lack understanding.
The 144000 describes how hard it is even for those that claim chosen status, even amongst Christians. 10 virgin scenario again.

Everyone was awaiting Elijah's return and searched for him.
He came, no one noticed. Jesus himself had to tell them whom they missed was the man that looked like him, dressed like him, ate like him, and taught like him.
Yet not a single expert recognized him.
