If you are an APFT failure due to a medical condition can you get your P status back or do you have to reboard?

I looked into the regulations AR 600-8 and AR 600-20 but they have no guidance on this issue. I am trying to figure this out as I had a PT failure of 10 seconds on my run. I had an MRI scheduled for the end of the month due to training and being in a new unit. I was wondering if being my MRI was scheduled and it came back showing I have a Labral tear if I would be able to get my P status back. Also it’s been over a month and my flag has not been removed since I had a passing APFT.

I just reread the question. You'll have to reboard. You became ineligible for promotion with a flag. Also, your flag should be lifted as long as your passing APFT was for record

I told my section sgt and platoon sgt that I had wanted to take a record apft the morning I took my apft. So as far as my new section sgt and team leader are tracking, I passed an apft and I should be unflagged. But the paperwork wasn’t conducted. So I’ll have to check again on Wednesday.

Is there anyway to have the 1SG or CSM give my p status back because after talking to my 1SG he fully understands my medical situation. I had a Labral tear in 2017 and had surgery in 2018 to repair it then in 2020 I was diagnosed with a Labral tear in the same hip i had surgery on. He said he was gonna help me get promoted. I’m also in a 20 slot.

SPC(P) (Join to see) is there a reason why you can't reboard??
Your commander would have to remove your flag as erroneous. It wasn't erroneous, so you will have to reboard.

If you could prove the failure was due to a medical condition. You are a little vague.

Yes it can be proven CSM. Plus I had taken 20 PT tests in 4 months “to go to BLC” which never happened. All this was done at a unit I was moved from and my new 1SG is tracking all this, he knows abojt my past Labral tear and repair and the new Labral tear on the same hip. I was seeing a neurologist for this issue and an MRI was scheduled before I had taken the PT TEST, I also have nerve damage in the same leg from my last labral tear.

ultimately, if you were not on profile, you were able to take the PT test, and hence you failed. If you fail an APFT, you have 90 days to take and pass a record. you will be administered a diag apft at the 30 day and 60 day marks unless waived by the commander. You will then need to be reboarded.

I have a permanent profile for a prior Labral tear and repair. But I took a passing apft back in feb.

If the APFT in February you took was following your failure, it would need to be annotated as a record testSPC(P) (Join to see)

1SG had made the entire company take a record PT test the day I took my recent record pass. SSG (Join to see)

The NCOs in my platoon did not do the paperwork to get my flag removed so I’m in a situation where I’m on a profile for a Labral tear, needing surgery, took a record apft but the NCOs didn’t do the paperwork to remove my flag. I guess my option is to talk to 1SG.
