I'd really like to meet Abraham Lincoln.
He started with nothing, built a life and reached the pinnacle of politics. Recognized that slavery was an evil that had to be ended. Put the country back together after the war and was killed for being a great leader. The great Orator that could enshroud all who listened.
Leadership at its finest.

And he continued his work, despite the loss of three sons. All that he did, and to me those are greatest challenges he overcame.

He masterfully choose a cabinet comprised of, for the most part, political rivals that would eventually bond and come to respect Lincoln for his character and leadership. They were of great value to the president as he led The nation through the civil war. Recommend The book "Team of Rivals: The political genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. My favorite book on the Lincoln presidency.

Agree whole hardily. someone that had that vision that he did and understood the resistance he would face. yes meeting special people like Albert Einstein would be great, Lincoln stood out as a leader in so many ways.

There Are 2 People I Would Love To Go Back In Time To Spend Some Time With.
My Father’s Mother ! She Passed Away When I Was 10 , I Would Like To Speak With Her About How She Grew Up On A Reservation And Lived The Traditional Native American Lifestyle, I Didn’t Learn Enough From Her As A Child.
Most Important I Would Love To Meet Jesus Christ And Thank Him For What His Life And Death Will Mean To The World , I Will See Him Someday And Will Thank Him Then.

I hope most people give the same response and I hope you win the grand prize. Faith and family are the most important things civilization needs right now.

One Of The Greatest Traditions In Native American Culture Is To Learn From And Respect The Elders, My Grandmother Was Born In 1890 And Was Taught Both The Old and New Ways Of Living, I Do Remember Some Things She Taught Me But As A Child I Wish I Would Have Paid More Attention.
I Have Tried To Pass On My Knowledge Of Life And Religious Beliefs On To My Children And Grandchildren .
When We Are Going Through The Worst Times Of Our Life The Only Things We Have Left Are Faith And Family

Well said James. TBH, I did not read anyones reply until I wrote mine and I too chose Abraham Lincoln, but your commentary was much better than mine.

Albert Einstein - He's one of the most well-known and influential scientists of the 20th century. His contributions to physics and our understanding of the universe are still relevant and studied today and his theories and discoveries challenged long-held beliefs and provided new insights into the workings of the universe.

Most Scientists and theorists think there are some greater in the Modern day. I just say to them, that with what Einstein had to work with and the whole nepotistic/ antisemitic times he grew up and Even lived in , how are the scientists doing anything on their own as he had to. Without electronics, super computers, colliders, even a simple calculator was only rudimentary at best .. , how would they do in such an Era??
We have so many inventions and groundwork etc., that he did not.
How on Earth do they think they are smarter than Einstein.
All he had was a basic cash register so to speak, sparse books and paper.
The new scientists amd theorists forget this.

I agree… Einstine is a great example of how Nurture and Nature can reap rewards that can stretch beyond one lifetime!

I would like to go back and talk to my younger self. I would tell him everything is going to turn out ok.

Greetings PO3 Roberts,
I, too, would like to meet my younger self. In my case, I would tell him to get his education and listen more to his parents. I would tell him to live life in the moment as "life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it" (Ferris Bueller).

I would tell my younger self "Don't marry her!" Wait there is going to be someone far better. Here's the date, time, the how and the subject that started it all! Oh, one more thing "Save Your Damn Money!"

Paul the Apostle
I would like to hear him tell about his vision on the road to Damascus and how the Lord transformed him to be an apostle. He would have so many stories to tell other than those mentioned in the Bible.

The writers and signers of the Declaration of Independence. I realize it's more than one, but the courage these men had to stand up for what they believed in even if it meant their life is very incredible. I don't want to start a political pissing contest because I really don't care what side you are on and I really don't understand why we have to take sides, but can you imagine doing what they did in this day. I would love to talk to them so I could understand what their thoughts and feelings were when they put their name on that document that virtually signed their death warrant.

Washington was against division in governing members. He foresaw exactly what is happening today. The " My team is better" attitude getting to the point of devoting to a political belief system over Country.

Donald J. Trump.
In my life time, President Trump has done more than any other president for our great country and the world. He wasn't afraid to stand up to leaders of other countries. He helped reduce government red tape. He helped increase employment and reduce unemployment. He was able to reduce people on government assistance by getting those back to work. He helped reduce crime both in this country and put the taliban on their heels. That is only a fraction of what he accomplished.

and let me say this I am not in the contest, and don.t want to be. But all of us old & young veterans alike, who live a distance from a VA hospital, Trump made it easy for us to get care with, non-VA docs and non-VA clinics for care. Doctors of your choice the best of the best. no more waiting 6 months to see a doctor that you do not care for or respect. many vets are alive and are getting medical care because of Trump! The only thing that P ss me off is the VA makes it hard to get paid travel.
