If you could pick any MOS, rank, and/or branch in the Military, what would it be?

It's all good. Drink the koolaid and join the club......any club will do. No matter what you do, or where you do it, you are a 1%er.
That being said, the CAV has big hats, sabers, big egos, and spurs that jingle jangle jingle. We don't discriminate either. We love all branches of the service, all military jobs, and all ranks. But nothing good comes easy, or cheap, and your gold spurs are only earned through combat. Larger than life handlebar mustaches authorized on a case by case basis.....as long as only CAV folks are in the AOR. Air Cav! Out Front!.

The CAV gets all dressed up but only exists to support the Infantry! Thank you, Ladies!

I originally wanted to go active component and infantry. The needs of the Army put me in the Reserves as an Engineer. I love it! I can drive to the location instead of hump it over and we blow hole through wall instead of kick down doors. Or we can do other Engineering operations besides the "sexy" route clearance missions and do construction like I am doing now. This can help Soldiers translate their MOS into a civilian career that is good paying when they get out.

Sir, I agree! I feel like this is maybe one of the few MOS's that will translate in the civilian world (correct me if I'm wrong). I needed another skill for a backup career just incase Law Enforcement doesn't work out! Besides, who doesn't like blowing stuff up?

Thank you Sir. I personally think that a Special Forces Alpha team is something I myself would have enjoyed being in in my younger days. I came close 1 time, with the 12th, but life altered my situation and I was never able to even start. It was A co, 1st BN 12 SFG in Utah, when they were active NG.

I get to be BA. But I like the pilot, of course I would have to tone it down. lol

I do want to say that, 11B is not the easiest MOS because of the fact that chances of getting killed are up there, however one MOS I would never want to do is 92M Mortuary Affairs Specialist.

The Mortuary Affairs Specialist performs duties involving deceased personnel such as safeguarding personal effects and preparing remains. Learn more at goarmy.com.

I have a battle buddy that reclassed out of 92M, since promotions to SSG and above are difficult in that MOS. She absolutely loved her job and didn't want to reclass at all. She said its a small tight-knit MOS with lots of travel and rewards. But to each their own, right?

SSG Paul Morgan, if there is any MOS I would rather the Army have a minimal need for, 92M would be high on that list.

I would want to be combat camera for a Ranger or SF unit!

The way I see it, the more folks who volunteer for support roles, the deeper the talent pool. I'd also prefer to see volunteers as opposed to getting folks who get put on orders w/o knowing what they're getting into.

SSG Pabon, lol I honestly just want to cover our hardest working Soldiers while I can, be it with an SF Group, Rangers, finance Soldiers working directly with the locals etc.
My most memorable and fulfilling moments were covering trans guys running convoys throughout Iraq and Afghanistan :)

Recruiter does seem like it would be difficult but I think trying to transition civilians into Soldiers as a Drill Sergeant would be pretty painful. Granted they get the badge that keeps on giving.

I thought about trying Drill Sergeant out a few times as well. Training someone to do something that they aren't accumstomed to does seems hard as well.

Being a Drill Sergeant was a hard and trying job but also one of the most rewarding when you see how far you helped them come from the time they left reception to when they graduate and all the headaches they gave you in between.

This is truly a hard question to answer but i do agree that Recruiter would be a hard MOS to be consistently successful in. Every job has its perks and its downfalls.

True! Being in, I have heard much talk about how one job is tougher than the next. They all are tough, but sometimes the talking the person into doing that job was the hard part. Some come in ready for it to the best of their ability, and for some it is a new start to life.

Good question. In my opinion, it depends on the individual's perspective. I love artillery, it's hard work, but I wouldn't say the hardest. Others may. I'm also a firefighter, same thing. Each person has their definition of hard. Though we can come to a consensus, it would still be viewed from your own perspective.

I will have to agree with you on that SGT Pefley and I’m an 11Z (11B)

Cooks for sure! They work the most inconvenient hours and down range they seem so bored because (from my experience) their job is ran by civilians. Yet they still work ridiculously long hours. Plus they have to wear that stupid beret. <div><br></div><div>Cooks get all my respect. </div>

1. Do push ups
2. Not every PAO has it like me. I have been very fortunate!
3. Sometimes even I have to go to the motor pool and pretend to turn things on and off!!!!
*mumbles* big dumb tanker...
