I went to basic with this SM and saw on his Facebook that he went to Prom in his ACU's. How would you go about mentoring one of your subordinates that are in violation of AR670-1?

AR670-1 Chapter 4 Section 3 Line 2... That's what I found in the reg, please attach anything else you find

**EDIT** This is not a Dance, but it is some Formal assembly and to the best of my knowledge he is not on Duty.. Class A's would of been appropriate (as long as it's in regs, which I'm sure isn't hard since he would only have 1 ribbon)

Just speak with him about this and find out what is going on instead of guessing. That way you can give correct information without looking like an ass. Then do what you feel is needed. i.e. counseling, verbal counseling or what not

Clearly a bad situation that you all are missing for some reason. These poor women are crying so much that the mascara ran down their faces.

Bad joke I'm tired...but seriously young soldiers don't comprehend the plethora of regulations. Pull that guy aside and let him know what's up. If he says to kick rocks then I suggest you choose your own adventure.

I would speak to him in private. I doubt he understands.

There isn't a legitimate excuse of I didn't know. If you have a doubt or if "someone said" it was cool don't let that be so reassuring. Do what is right. Look up the reg. Too easy.

I don't see a left shoulder patch, had he completed basic training yet? Was he in JROTC at the time maybe?
