If you were in a combat infantry unit which deploys on a regular basis how would you feel if your husband or wife were in the same unit?)

I would never want my wife to deploy with me SGT Vince Albert Dickson especially when we had young sons.

I know how men in those units act and would NEVER EVER want my wife to be in that environment!

We had a young married couple (wife in FSC and husband in Line company) by the end of deployment they were getting divorced. Wife hooked up with another female and husband was losing it. This caused many issues within the company and they had to pull him from his squad.

I saw this happen in the National Guard without any issue. In fact, the only time it was an issue was when the unit determined the married couple couldn't room together.

I would advise the Army to talk to the Navy and USMC who do deployments all the time and have handle this situation for a long time over 15 years from my experience. The Navy will not let the members in the same unit if one gets married one will leave to another unit usually back to what is called shore duty. Also believe the Marines do the same thing. In 2003 we were attached to task force Tarawa as part of the invasion we were on GCE with combat units supporting tactile Bridging and other Engineering task with Combat Engineers. His wife was with 6TH ESSB and they made sure she never crossed the LOD and never went into Iraq when her husband was operating in Iraq. Not quite the same thing but it in that area.
