If you were the Presidential nominee, what would your response and/or plan be for the economy, immigration, and the VA?

Rules of the playground.
1. Stick to the 3
2. Keep it PROFESSIONAL
3. Keep your response's to no more than 4 sentences per topic.
4. These are YOUR thoughts and OPINIONS. No need to "sharp shoot" or tear apart responses. Discuss YES.

1. Lower the corporate tax and overhaul the Tax code to spur hiring and expansion while looking at ways to cut federal spending.
2. Seal off the border to stop the bleeding and only after that is done work on a method for Illegals to become legal. That doesn't mean amnesty or even a guaranteed path to citizenship. That seems to be a reward to people for breaking the law. As much as we need to make a path to become legal we cant forget they came her illegally and cant be rewarded for that.
3. The VA. First the rule have to be changed so that when people don't do there jobs they can be fired instead of put on paid leave. Paid leave for not doing your job is BS. Who would want to work if you can get paid for fishing? The VA needs an internal overhaul. New processes that work patterned after successful private hospitals.

I received a card like that for when you live too far from a VA Hospital but it was a short active time and has since expired. I agree Its a great idea

there is not much of an inflow from the south anymore as there is from overseas. a wall to the south wont stop illegals from entering the country. So the wall would be a waste of tax payers money. in my oppinion

SGT Nathan Huff I wasn't calling for a wall specifically, but the American people want the inflow stopped before any talk of a path to being legal is discussed and I agree with that. IF we take illegals and ignore the fact they broke the law to get here and just give them free access, we will get flooded by more illegals

sorry, I use the term wall in a more generic cover all. I should have specified as it being a more aggressive border control. either way, it is not so cost effective. I am fully against amnesty or any way to just give them free access. the deportation process we currently have is not cost effective. With our current countries debt to income ratio, there needs to be a system in place that is more cost effective all around. we are currently spending 11 billion a year to locate and remove 1 million illegal immigrants. while if we instead created a way were they pay for entry covered by a small fine they could pay off over time while paying taxes. the 11 billion dollar (+) loss would turn into a massive gain.

1) Economy: I would use increase taxes in order to improve our infrastructure and quality of education much in the same way President Eisenhower did
2) Implement an amnesty/ path to citizenship program for those immigrants already in the US while aggresively combating illegal immigration
3) VA: Vastly improve the level of care for all veterans as well as use tax dollars to enlist quality medical professionals

http://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/best-education the US is at number 3 according to US News. If we are going to invest more, do it wisely. Investing more for teacher salaries to attract people with math and history backgrounds is smart. Hiring more people who major in education is not.

I believe that education majors are required. The reason I believe that is that not everyone who is a math whiz, or a great engineer, or a historian can teach. However, I do believe in getting them an education degree with an emphasis in a specific area such as math etc. That way they have the appropriate background and are good in the classroom. An education degree teaches human development, classroom procedures, lesson plans, student psychology etc that is desperately needed in the classroom. Problem is that the government is hamstringing our teachers, by not allowing them to teach material instead they are tying pay raises and job security to how well the students perform on a standardized test. Therefore, teachers teach to the test. Common core at its best.

And reform the laws. Stop protecting teachers that suck. That's the biggest issue with our schools. That and the fact teachers are pressured to pass people that shouldn't pass. Same standards across the board. Either you pass or you fail, you don't receive special treatment do to race. That does that person no good to pass him or her when they haven't performed. Would you want surgery done on your kid that passed College due to some number forced on the school? NO ME.

the education system needs to have thier administration audited like the VA does. what makes our education system so expensive now is the top-heavy system in place. they no longer run it like a nonprofit like they should. yes we need to pump more money into the system but provide a different retirement system than they have now. it is not cost effective with our current economy.

I guess I should put mine on here also.
1. Economy: Flat tax bracket. 3 of them. $0.00-$55,000=15% $55,000-$175,000=18% $175,000 and up=25%. Any corporation "hiding" money in off shore accounts etc automatic penalty of 30%. 2nd and 3rd order effects. Get jobs and money back to US. Long term event will eventually boost economy.
2. Immigration. Id look at this from a "bottom up approach". Start at bottom and see where the problems are. We have policies/procedures in place for immigration. They are obviously not working so I would identify the problem at lowest level, and fix from there and work my way up.
3. VA. Same concept as Immigration. Bottom up approach. Key thing to VA is the BEUAROCRACY would go away.
