Yes. Going to the dentist helps your mouth stay healthy, even when you don’t have symptoms like toothaches.
Your dentist is a health professional who helps you manage your overall health, not just your smile. And Delta Dental offers coverage especially for Veterans and military retirees like you.

In the Military we call this PMS "Preventive Maintenance Services." It is just common sense!

Except for the fact that you almost have to be independently wealthy to afford Dental insurance.

Not all problems lead to pain. Your teeth can still rot & not hurt. That usually means you also need a root canal at that point. A good dentist will also examine your mouth for suspicious lesions possibly from cancer as well.

All I can say is that in half a century of life I never had mouth pain or issues until I allowed comments like these influence my judgement and I went to see the dentist. It wasn't until that night and several days after that I finally got to experience what mouth pain felt like. In retrospect, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
For the record, my dad had ritual like dental hygiene and never complained about teeth issue and never went to the dentist. Full disclosure: he never ate junk food or sweets either.
