I see links on RallyPoint all the time. Brexit, politics, Red Cross posters, officer-involved shootings... it used to be that if you were a conspiracy theorist, you were the only weirdo in the room. Now, it's like having tattoos... everyone's got 'em. Why does the general public latch on to racism as the root cause of so many issues?

In my humble opinion, it's all about the drama. We as a society love our drama. Drama makes money, and there very few things that promote drama like sexism, racism, and conspiracies.

And I see no shortage of them on this thread....effing sad. I was in the USAF with a kid that had a flag in his dorm room that said, "The South Will Rise Again". They are still bitter about losing the civil war.

Racism....is still a side effect..of the real problem that plagues us as humans. We cry racism because it is easy. We feel offended when somehting happens to us and instead of looking at the truth...we cry racism...we use it as a weapon to cause people to back down. The problem is how do we distinguish between an actual cry of racism and the one who is crying wolf because he is butthurt? And it really comes down to the situation at hand. This a case by case subject and cannot be easily discussed in general terms.

And the real problem we have as people will always come down to individual ego....

I wish more people would fight back and prove their accusers as wrong or bigoted themselves. Maybe these bullies who cry Racism would stop it if they knew they might be called out for saying it!

Because they are morons. This is the automatic response, promulgated by teachers and staff, even. Case in point, the Mexican POA in Texas.

WOOPS......Those Morons Of Which You Speak, Can Be Found At The Heads Of Your School Districts.....Most TEACHERS Are Great And WANT To Teach USEFUL Subject Matter.
But The BIG WIGS Are Only Concerned With Pleasing The Parents OF The Students..
So The Subjects Are Geared To Such A LOW Level, ALL Student Pass Every Time...
And Are GIVEN High School Diplomas After 13 YEARS Of Learning Nothing....And Totally Qualified To Preform Nothing. HERE, Think About THIS, As WE Were Once There Too:
"Upon Completion Of The 6TH GRADE.....What Were We Taught Which Contributed To Our Education And Benefited Us In ANY Way What-So-Ever?.. THAT'S Some Scary Sh*t, Huh?

It is the one word that will get anyone to back off a situation or debate in the quickest way possible over the fear that the public will see them as racist.

Except for in an environment where the only individual who will hold them accountable for their racism is the person on the receiving end of said racism because it is socially acceptable in that environment, even up to the most senior levels.

Two reasons,
One racist attitudes and actions are not being tolerated any more people are comfortable calling it out. There was a lot of passive racists behavior in the past (much of it not intentional but born out of ignorance) If you do not address bad or negative behavior it will never change. There are others who are openly racist and do not care. That needs to be called out as well. In the not so distant past there were many who were afraid to call this out because of fear and or apathy

Second. There are some who I believe are a smaller number who will use this (The Race Card)as a get out of trouble card or as a way to take advantage of others, blaming past racism for their current bad actions or their failure to succeed.

I do agree that their are those who are born into hard or unfortunate circumstances who have to overcome obstacles to succeed (this is not limited to race by the way) and they have to rise above the fray to do well. I also know there are those who are afraid of letting those same people rise to the top because then they will lose their place above others.

It is complicated!
