I have Respect for both me. I love the things that Gen. Colin Powell(Ret) has done through his service for our Country. Many have called for him to run for President. I am not sure why he never ran. I strongly believe in my heart he would have been the first Black President. Do you AGREE or DISAGREE?

Hillary actually has a lot of experience but with her mistakes and also from talking out of both sides of her mouth her experience does not make up for having server spillage that should have resulted in a jail sentence and she should have been more forceful and more aware of the Benghazi issues before the Ambassador and others were killed in Libya. She, President Obama and Secretary Rice (not Condolezza but the current one) really f-cked things up and said various reasons that attack occured such as the dumb line that is was a demonstration gone bad not a planned attack as it actually was!

Having served around Powell (yep not directly with), I have seen on a second and third hand bases an outstanding leader. I think he would have been an excellent president but family and other considerations prevented that from happening. I would have volunteered on his campaign as well as voted for him.

In your Opinion who would have made a better President: President Obama or Former National Security Advisor Colin Powell?

The relevant question, IMO, is whether Powell would have been a better president than Bush. Because that election cycle in 2000 was the time when Powell's popularity was at its peak, and the extreme right wing of the republican party hadn't completely taken over the party yet, so a moderate like Powell still had a chance at being nominated. I think he would have won if he had run in 2000, and been a much better president than Bush. Particularly in that I doubt we would have ended up going to war with Iraq. But we'll never know.

I recall reading somewhere that Powell said a big part of his decision not to get into politics was his wife's fears that he would be assassinated. Apparently he received way more than the usual number of death threats than politicians usually do, just as Obama has, as there were a large number of people not willing to accept the idea of a black president.

true..times have changed. This is a difficult time now that what we knew in the past is no longer true about the major political parties and the men/women who belong to them.

Maj Werner Saemmler-Hindrichs - I doubt that, seriously. Clinton and congress believed there were weapons of mass destruction. Who supplied chemical weapons to Iraq? I believe we did!

I had a great deal of respect for Gen. Powell, I knew him when he as a MG working as SecDef Colin Weinberger's military assistant and traveled with then to China. In recent years, however, he as been a disappointment, turning on the Republican Party and backing Barack Obama which I know he knows has not been a good president. Having said this, however, I would prefer Powell over Obama any day.

Gen. Colin Powell was awesome. He does not want to be POTUS. He fought in Vietnam and served well up to 4 star How many men of any race can make it to full General and also serve as Secretary of State? Gen. Powell, I know, feels betrayed by the intelligence services as he discussed the Iraqi invasion in the UN. He feels he looked like lying in front of the world about Iraq and WMD. He served his country with distinction. He, in my opinion, would have bee a better President that President Obama and not appear wimpy like he did on 60 minutes.

He would've won by a landslide. He's that man who has respect from Americans and foreign leaders alike. I know had he ran, we wouldn't be in Iraq then and we wouldn't be now. His doctrine is still taught and argued over to this day, so there has to be something to it that rings true. I don't think he'd be as quick to deploy troops everywhere, nor do I believe Israel would have a better relationship with him than they do with Obama. I think Powell would've called it like it is and hurt some feelings. I think the GOP would be doing themselves a favor if they could get him to run for them, but after the blatant disrespect he was put through with the intel used to go to Iraq, and the immoral attacks on each other and family members seen today, I don't think Powell would want to run. If he was to become POTUS, if you thought there was a mass exodus of flag officers under Obama, that would be a rookie headcount compared to Powell. He IS a General, and wouldn't fall for the doubletalk or side comments that Obama has to deal with, and being relieved with rank would be a thing of the past. Powell is that gangsta who would smile, put his hand over your shoulder, and look you square in your face and tell you EXACTLY what he is going to do, and you would believe him. I'd rather have Powell than Mattis at this time, being Powell has the longer resume. Mattis if he ran, I'd vote for him too, but he would need just a little more than those stars to effect belief in the masses who don't know him the way vets do.

Easy one, Powell. He was not an ideologue and was experienced in military, political life and successful as a civilian. Want to bet who would win the Democrat nomination, if he ran against the old white dude/dudette?

I liked the General during Desert Storm, but feel he flipped flopped on his party and sold out a little to support Obama even when he knew Obama was wrong.
