For the last three years of have been working on my degree and credit so that I could eventually drop an OCS packet. Finally everything is good to go. However, I hit my six year mark this month in the Army, which makes me ineligible for OCS. Is AFS waiverable? I can't find any info whether it is or not.

Are you only fixated on being an O in the Army, or have you looked into the requirements of the other branches? Might be more than one way to skin a cat and make a difference.

I agree. I am looking at the prospect of becoming a warrant, as well. There are always other ways to make a difference. I am just a little bitter that the chance of becoming an army officer is gone, as I have working very hard on making sure that I meet all the requirements. Anyways, I am all working all angles to achieve what I want. Thanks.

1LT (Join to see) - "There are always other ways to make a difference"...famous words from a future SGM/CSM? You know who really runs the Army (no not the E4 Mafia even though they do...kinda...sorta). Taking care of yourself means you are already making a difference. The Soldiers see you do good, and they're going to want to emulate.

1LT (Join to see) - Warrant officer is not a bad plan. One of my nephews went that route. E6 to WO1 (now CWO3).

TIS that is under 10 can apply, but you don't want rejection at this stage either, so how do you proceed 1LT (Join to see)?

SGT Roodly,

HRC came out with a new MILPER for OCS requirements and when you look over it there is nothing about TIS. I got curious and gave HRC a phone call and they said they moved it to a different document. After a little more prodding they stated that it is now 10 TIS or less. I have 8 years TIS and I am putting the packet in for this upcoming January board.
