SFC Stephen King A leader needs to go into things with a clear perspective or their decisions will be skewed.

If not "effective" at least it gives you a better insight as to overall goals. Helps the leader know what the end goal is that they are grinding towards.

It's hard to relate to your troops if you can't see what they see. Without perspective you're just a position not a leader.
