I went to a meeting today on the MISSION Act, it was SRO, and I can’t stand for long periods of time, so I had to leave. My local VA is very short on help with this, but someone has to know the scoop.

Thanks!

That’s an overview site, drilling down doesn’t seem to provide any more meat than what I’ve found, but thank you! There’s a few nuggets in there to be gleaned out.

I did get some material over the weekend about the urgent Care clinics that are in network.

MCPO Hilary Kunz no it was an email. It directed me to the website to find the contracted urgent Care centers.

I'll see if I can find the email and link.

I did find the urgent care information, but that’s no change from before, I always went there. Thank you for any additional information.

Is anyone getting any information on the MISSION Act? The VA keeps saying it’s great, but without any information, is there another source?

Yes lots. Myehealth has sent many emails on it. The VA Center has been very proactive promoting it. Plus every VA Medical Center has an Office open weekdays to stop in and get more information face to face

You’re lucky that you have a proactive VAMC.
I’ve gotten the emails, with FAQs that don’t apply to me, or anyone in my hometown. I’m 4 hours from the nearest VAMC, so Choice has been my care, and now it’s changed to MISSION Act. I have a fast growing skin cancer that needs treated as soon as it appears, it seems like about every six weeks there’s a new one, so a possible gap in coverage is concerning. My cardiologist, who is the only one in town, is no longer available. Yay for improving my health care!

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but remote Arizona desert towns are rather ignored by the VA, it’s just a fact of life here. They won’t even mail out information if you request it, because it’s too expensive.

Our VAMC scheduled a meeting in a small room, and only one. I asked the PAO if there was another one, or could they do another one right away so those of us that were excluded can get the information.
Short answer: no.

I read about “grandfathering” on one page, but when they talk eligibility, it gets skipped. So am I eligible or not? Do I now have a copay? I can’t afford that, so my care will stop. And my LPN, who is very good, doesn’t know either, I don’t think all VA employees have been fully briefed, so they are reauthorizing my consults, maybe.

I just posted my update on MISSION Act in a new update, but I can’t figure out how to invite each of you to look at it, so maybe you’ll see this. Thank you everyone for your help.

I’ve wondered about that, but a two hour information meeting is a lot more data than what I’ve found online. It’s very nebulous online, lots of overview, but no idea how to start. I’ve been on Choice since it’s inception, the Prescott VAMC is 4 hours away, and I just lost my cardiologist here in town because the VA dropped his contract. I used Choice at least once a month at least, and it’s for things like my ongoing battle with skin cancer, for which I’m seen every two months. Ortho requires even more appointments, all covered by Choice.

I rely on my VA nurse for everything else, so I asked her about my cardiologist on the secure website myhealthevet. I’m waiting for a response. There’s only one in town, and appointments are hard to get. I’m sure it will work out somehow, but the Prescott PAO is involved, and she’s notoriously unable to see another possible position or way to overcome obstacles, so my confidence level isn’t 100%.

I think what I, and possibly others, would like is for our confidence level to be 100% in regards to the VA and this new program. I’m looking for information to help me with my specific set of ailments and broken stuff, just like everyone else.

Thank you all for your responses!
