Here is a petition where Muslims in Germany are asking to discontinue Oktoberfest as they claim it is an anti-Islamic event.
What are your thoughts?

There are many tolerant and very fine Muslim Americans, however there are those that hate America and Western ideology too. There are those that believe all people should be bound by Sharia law.

I have long ago decided that IF:
I quit eating everything that some says will kill me, quit drinking everything that someone says will kill me, and quit doing everything that some says will kill me THEN
I will die within 30 days either from starvation. thirst, or boredom.

You do realize that this is a false story?
Does that even matter at RP anymore?

FACT CHECK: Are Muslim refugees demanding that the city of Munich, Germany, ban Oktoberfest? Claim: Muslim refugees are demanding that the city of Munich, Germany, ban Oktoberfest. FALSE Example: [Collected via email, September 2015] Is this true? Muslims demands Munich end ‘anti-Islamic’ Oktoberfest? Origins: On 11 September 2015, a petition was started on the web site Change.org, ostensibly by (and on behalf of) Muslims, requesting...

Just another example of the lengths some will go, to deride a religion they don't like.

LTC Frank Di Muccio, Please rephrase your question to: "What is Islam tolerant and accepting of?" Responses to that might be more enlightening.
Noting that the current mass of refugees are fleeing to 'western nations' rather than other Muslim nations, what does that speak of their benevolence and brotherly love?

There is no reason for Western nations to change their culture and heritage for refugees. There was no reason that the Syrian, Iraqi, Afghani, or refugees of other Muslim nations have to go to Western nations. Oh wait, is it because most all of the "civilized" muslim countries are already in the same situation? There is a reason the Arab Spring occurred, and it is not because Islam is a more tolerant and accepting religion.

That petition has less than 500 signatures and there's no way to know if the poster is even who he claims he is. It's hard to derive any broader conclusions from it.

Let me get this right........Muslim citizens want the world to be tolerant of their religion and want the country of Germany to STOP with holding Oktoberfest? Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa.......that's gonna happen. I love that mentality of "Be tolerant of us....but we are not going to be tolerant of you." And the ever popular "You need to change your way of life so we are no longer offended."

Well...
There are a ton of non-Christian, and non-Buddhist, and non-Hindu acts completed all over the world. Some by Muslims.
If you try not to offend anyone, you literally can't do anything. This is not against Muslims in particular, but Munich can't end Oktoberfest as a result of this.

Agreed, there are extremes in all religions, it seems that Islam has refined the art of law war.

This is intolerant - sure. But not representative.
I mean the manner in which they requested consideration, is wildly more appropriate than for example the Westboro Baptist Church. As much as I disagree with their request, and find it amazing how one can ask a country, that acts as a host for refugees to change in an effort to not to offend is terrible. But at least they are not picking the activity with sign suggesting "Beer drinkings will burn in hell" in comparison to other organisations stated above.
