Is it difficult for you to make genuine friends in the military, if so, what are some of the obstacles you have faced?

I do not have issues making genuine friends when I PCS to a new post - but what I've been trying to do more lately (and been forced to do this assignment - since i'm not on a post) is to make a concerted effort to make more civilian friends. That bit tends to be hard - as we obviously don't relate well on what we have done in life, but I believe it'll be a useful skill to develop now before I aim to retire in 4-5 years.
