For in-service soldiers. Are there any 15Ws out there that can maybe confirm this, or maybe help me get into the MOS? I know it's a long shot, but I'm extremely qualified for this MOS and motivated to reclass to it. My career counselor told me to look for other options, but this is the MOS I want.

I'm a little late responding to this but, I was in your same position. You have to get a waiver from the aviation branch to reclass. http://www.rucker.army.mil/usaace/directorates/cdid/opfd/iw_enlisted.html
You will need to get a class IV(4) flight physical, a 4187 that summarizes why you want to switch to that job, your ERB, a JPAS printout, and your PHA must be current/ within the last 12 months. I was told that not many people get in that are in the grade of SGT. If you get the waiver approved getting a class seat will be your next major obstacle. There are only a couple of authorized slots for MOS-T guys and that is split between Army, Guard, and the other Branches Marines/Navy.
If you are serious about switching send me a PM and I will see what I can do to help.

I reclass in August 2017 to 15W. It was kinda of challenging to get a seat, but if you have a good career counselor you should be able to get a seat. If you have any questions, just ask.

I'm still in class I graduate on the 16th. The course is kinda challenging, but not overwhelming.

The opposite is largely true; there are often reclass slots open. This is a high turnover MOS. Slots for straight reclass into the U5 course are rare now but as long as there are "in" calls you will be able to reclass.

I know this is a old posting but what is the current wait time to get a into a class as of 11/20, I was told 1-2 years wait listed. Went through all the hoops and did the flight physical , already have secrete clearance. I re-classes into the Guard from reserves

I'm in the school now. Former 11B as well. The school seats vary with the platform. Having no UAS experience you'll probably be shadow. But seats for shadow are in high demand right now. Youll get it ypull probably jist have to wait.

Well 15W was 96U when I was in but from what I did in AIT was as long as you can pay attention and hold onto information you'll be fine in AIT. As for seats it was pretty full. But for SGTs it may be difficult. There's not many spaces available for SGTs when I was in but that could of changed

Im currently in AIT as a 15W and we filter new soldiers thru the course monthly and there is only room for around 25 students per class which is why there is a day and night shift. When you are waiting for your first class or the next upcoming one (ex: UGS, USO, SIMS) you are put on holds status and you usually do details like pulling weeds.

It all depends on the class schedule and how many slots are available. I was in a class with only 3 MOS-T, but the class behind me had 10.
