Yes, call the Fort Sill Range Control for its operability.
It's near the Longstreet Road Access Point, on the corner of Macridge Rd and Longstreet Rd.
I haven't seen too many units use it when I was there; in the past 20 years, but it's there. Drove by it coming on post and going home everyday when I was stationed there.

Contact Ft Sill to use Braggs Bayonet course?
I know what you meant though.
When an Airborne School student asked me once the name of the DZ we were jumping on, I was on the jump as a cadre member, I said Sicily. That would have been a long flight on a 130 especially for students on their 1st jump.
It happens.

SGT Harry Clyde,

YES, my response is just what I've stated. Having spent 13.5 years on that installation (Fort Bragg), I believe I know what I'm stating.

When I was reassigned in 3/13,It was no longer being taught when I was a supply tech/armorer in B 1/50 IN OSUT. It was when I started working there 8/10 but was being phased out. I turned all the bayonets in in 2011. May have changed since.

Thank you all for the help. Glad some units are still doing it. While it's not high on the METL it teaches Violence of Action better than any other excersice, something we are sorely missing as an Army after the past 7 years of hearts and minds.

I'm not sure what Fort Bragg's bayonet course has to do with fertilizer.

MSG (Join to see) - Under that condition I, and the guys I work with, would show up with finely honed bayonets and the finest rubber ducks we can find.

Simple, Bayonet + impaled enemy + his blood on grass from said impalement= grass growing on that spot.
A metaphor from the old days.
Bayonet training teaches you or refreshes your memory on this lost skill no matter what post your on.

SFC Bradshaw hit the nail on the head. The thing about it is that you never know when this training can come into use. Every combat situation is different. As a killing machine you need to know more than point and shoot. Using bayonet and knife fighting skills may come in handy in close quarters when out of ammunition or shooting is not an option, especially when silence is the key especially with sentries. A blood curdling yell coming at you as the enemy from a soldier who wants to eviscerate you can be quite scary.
Besides I had fun at bayonet training. It got me excited and in the mood for blood. Didnt get to use the training though months later on vacation in Iraq back in 91.
Oh the good ole days!
