Technically, unit armorer is in the duty description of 92Y unit supply specialist. However, that rarely happens because there are not enough 92Y's to go around. I don't think there any MOS's that are prohibited from attending the course.

Plus the fact that the 92Ys don't know shit when it comes to properly inspecting weapons and or trouble shooting them.

I was in that same boat while assigned to a 15P position. Not much funnier than handing weapons back to warrants for them to clean

Depending on the post and unit, 91f aren't authorized as unit armorers. This is so because our job is to support batallion sized units. If we are put into a company unit armorer slot we are unable to perform our duties in our mos due to the additional duties as armorers.

It's rare but does happen. My first unit had a 45 doing (prior to the switch), just because the CO wanted him to do something vaguely related to his MOS.

The only requirement is if you are conducting 91f operations ie inspecting arms rooms you cant be an armour to inspect your own arms room
