Does anyone find it a bit fishy that on the eve of the expiration of the Patriot Act, we are hit with an increase in Force Protection Levels across the board. They say it is because of revelations of homegrown terrorist. Where do the dots connect? Is the military being utilized as a political asset, or propaganda, in its own country? The PATRIOT Act is an affront to the Constitution and the principle of the American freedoms we cherish. To say it should go down in inglorious defeat is a given.

At the same time, though, there are three plausible reasons for the raising of the FPCON, as far as I can tell:
1.) Actionable intelligence of a pending or likely threat.
2.) Training, in order to keep the force vigilant and prepared.
3.) Political maneuvering.

The problem, is that not only does it defeat the purpose of all 3 of those possible goals to admit the reason, but the goals are also not mutually exclusive so the truth may be a combination of more than one, and maybe even all three.

We'll probably just have to wait and see...

There is so much going on right now in this Country of ours that it is very disturbing. Between the Police Officers being in the lime light and all of the racial problems that are going on, I believe that this plays a big part in why there is an increase in the Security Level. It seems that we are going to hell in a hand basket lately?
