for example, we were told to do push ups as corrective action but cannot exceed 5 repetitions due to FM 7-22 5-15. So what happened was, we did 5 push ups in about 5 minutes due to being told to do them in cadence but at a very slow cadence. in BLC we were told that this can not be done but I cant find it in black in white so I dont want to bring up a situation without the facts.

The whole purpose of BLC is learning that everything must be in black and white. If they can't show you that, then it's not real. The burden of proof is always on the person making the declaration.

That aside, as a Private in the 75th we had to do hand stand pushups on the wall for half an hour at at time when we messed up. I don't think five minutes is a big deal.

One time in BCT I had to do facing movements while in the bunks before bed. It was awkward.

Or we got smoked for a good 2 hours in the sand pit between 4-5 Drill Sergeants. Someone puked and someone passed out...that's when it stopped.

I have heard tales of this topic but haven't felt the need to research the specifics. I have other things for soldiers if they screw up (example: unlace and lace up their boots over and over again) instead of worrying about physical exertion and remaining compliant to the literature.

Reg answers aside... As a private in the 82nd i was given the order on Monday to memorize and then sign on Friday the All American "airborne" song. I blew it off.. Come Friday when i was told to sing it, and obviously did not know it. I was taken outside and smoked in the rain while a SPC played the song for me to memorize super quick to then sign it.

I look back to this very often, i did not then, nor will i ever cry about that. "Smoking/corrective action" i believe plays a very important role for all Soldiers.

Now when Soldiers do not "want" to be "smoked" i have to resort to having a paper trail which i don't like because some people just need a little bit of a wake up call.

Anyways, ending statement, do some push ups, its not going to kill you, it will actually help you, mentally (why am i being smoked) and physically (improvements.)

So you went down, held for 30 seconds, came up, held for 30 seconds. Five times?
