Is there any regulation or anything that would allow a solider to work while pending separation? If so, how do I request that?

I’m getting a 5 17 chapter, which was initiated six months ago. My packet has just gone to legal. Assuming this process would be a lot faster I applied for jobs. Is there any regulation or anything that would allow a solider to work while pending separation? If so how should I go about requesting that? Has anybody ever seen this done before?

It's called moonlighting and your commander would have to approve your request to moonlight after duty hours. Since you're pending separation I doubt any commander would approve that. No commander is going to support you working another job during duty hours. As long as you draw a paycheck your primary job is still the Army

Thanks sfc, if you take your leave kind of like “terminal leave” would you be allowed to work?

SSG (Join to see) once you sing out on terminal leave you can work full time. Just keep in time that, for all purpose, you still in the Army until your very last day of leave.

SSG (Join to see) you can do anything you want on leave. Technically you still need to request to moonlight, but if you're doing something legit, no commander is going to fault you. However, you can't swing a job with the little amount of leave you have saved if your separation isn't approved yet because you don't know when you'll ETS, meaning you'll still have to leave your civilian job to return to your current job until you ETS.

I know many people who Uber and do food delivery like DoorDash in the Army so yes it’s possible.

You will have to go the same Co who is chaptering you and request permission.
