I have been in a leadership position for a while and hear many of the problems that the MTOE officers have to experience. These officers are now homeless because their household goods have been picked up and their leases are terminated. Their other unit keeps stating “pending further updates” while they have no place to go. Is there something I can do to assist these individuals that are stuck?

What leadership position would a Spc be in that he or she has to oversee Officer related issues. Any Officer worth a grain of salt knows to contact base housing, if they are I. Transit and vaulted by the military the military will put them up in a hotel or temporary quarters depending upon where they are stationed.

Thank you for responding CSM. I’m not managing their affairs whatsoever. I only hear about their situations when they come to me to turn in trainings, etc. I only asked this question here to see if there were other places handling it better than ours and maybe others were given more specific instructions on how to handle the situation, but it seems they have finally released the official memo yesterday as how it would be handled appropriately.

Talk to the DTS Admin about travel entitlements. They would have guidance from higher if this is a perfect world. Try to find out if the post commander and the army have issued guidance.
