A SM in my shop has order to PCS. The gaining unit houses her ex, as well as the person the ex cheated and is having a baby with. Is there anyway to cancel orders?

Use the NCO support channel on this one. Sounds like something a CSM could handle with a phone call.

Simple solution, when she gets to her new duty station make sure she does an open door to inform leadership of the situation, likely they will move her away from them.

No real need to cancel orders unless her ex was abusive.

Chain of Command. They are there for these type of issues. Your question states "ex" but not whether it's ex-spouse or ex-relationship other than by marriage. Three notes: 1, the sm's oath of enlistment is to the Country and Service regardless of personal commitments and or conflicts with other service members. Do not allow those issues to become morale, performance or discipline issues for you in fulfilling that oath, or the chain of command will get involved in negative ways. 2. There are established policies and procedures for sepperate assignments for spouses, as well as policies and procedures for fraternization. Follow them to your benefit and the benefit of the service. 3. Two key members of your chain of command not mentioned in the previous comments are your Chaplain and retention NCO. Both of them should be consulted anytime there is a conflict of duty assignments and personal relationships.

Think of "esprit de corps" and/or group cohesiveness that may be compromised. When the shoe is on the other foot, it is very easy to say: "Don't let personal issues to blah, blah, la hi la la", etc.
I lost my commanding officer due to self inflicted wound. She was having that same issue with her husband.

I suggest for an open door with the CSM and explain her situation. Be very honest on it and let the CSM do his/her magic! That by its own merit is a ticking bomb that might go off if not dealt in a timely manner.

Small world sometimes! LTC (Join to see) had the right idea. I changed PCS orders once in my career: A General Officer's executive officer made a phone call to the chief of personnel's executive officer for me. Similar to one CSM talking to another CSM on your behalf.

Report as ordered is a good start. Plan B is a match or flame. Wait for intervention.
