<p>There is a program called IMA (Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) / Drilling Individual
Mobilization Augmentee (DIMA) Program). Not sure if you would qualify or not. It is designed "facilitate the rapid expansion of the Active Army wartime structure of the
department of Defense and/or other departments or agencies of the U.S.
Government to meet military manpower requirements in the event of military
contingency, pre-mobilization, mobilization, sustainment, and / or
demobilization operations."</p><p> </p><p>Below is the email address to the Enlisted Team at HRC Fort Knox. If I were you, I would do some research into the program and present your findings to your PSG and 1SG. I am sure that they would defintiely be willing to assist you. Good luck. </p><p> </p><p> [login to see] </p>

The Master Sargent is correct. You can also speak to your 1SG and CO and ask permission to ask around to volunteer for deployments Then keep your ear to the ground and informally ask deploying units if they need the technical assistance you can offer.

I do believe you can call your branch or up to HRC to see if there are units accepting volunteers for deployments.

Remember, the DoD is ending the wars. Almost all combat operations have ended, deaths and injuries are drastically reduced so everyone wants to deploy and get that combat patch before they are gone. No one wants to be light on the right

I understand you want to deploy. But why ? Please don't do it for the wrong reason. A war zone is not a good place to be. I alway tell soldiers be careful what you ask for. You just might get it.

SFC William trent,
Their is 2 main reasons I want to deploy. 1. I really want to gain the additional benefits for school. I’m 20 years old attending college as a full time student and working full time, I'm barley making ends meet. 2. I want the promotion points, looks great when going to the board. I understand the risks associated with deploying, however this is why I enlisted. I did not enlist to do one weekend a month and 3 weeks in the summer.

If you didnt enlist to do the one weekend a month then get the heck out of the reserves. For a reservest to make that statement is pure B $. Get your conditional release and go Active. There are more ways to get money for college and look "good" for a board then a deployment. How about having your packet squared away and typing it (not writing it), volunteer. Take part in the army ten miler shadow runs or local 5k/10k races. Get involved. Be careful what you ask for. Based upon your answers to these posts you are not mature enough to he called a Non Commissioned Officer. Im sorry if that stings, but, after several deployments I did not volunteer for, you need to hear honesty.

I am doing exactly what you are doing and I understand how frustrating it can be. I go online 5days a week to look for opportunities but so far nothing. Keep on trucking thou, you never know. Oh I got a hit once on TOD but my own chain of command shut me down.

Besides the PFI website, is there anything on AKO that shows anything? Deployed once to Iraq 2005-2007 as enlisted, but want a deployment as an officer. Had an opportunity to deploy to Afghanistan (in 2013) as part of an SFAT team, but was cancelled.
