But soon “flashing lights and sirens from a police vehicle” paused her walk, she wrote in a column for the Dallas Morning News. Bland was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, and she’s black. “Like most African-Americans, I am familiar with the phrase ‘driving while black,’ but was I really being stopped for walking on the street in my own neighborhood?” she asked. “Yes,” she answered. “In the words of Sal Ruibal, ‘Walking while black is a crime in many jurisdictions. May God have mercy on our nation.’” Bland said she asked the officers if there was a problem but didn’t “remember getting a decent answer before one of the officers asked me where I lived and for identification...”

As usual, the racism started and ended in Ms. Bland's mind.

This all started because she is a self entitled twit. The Officers should sue her and also she should be removed from her position because she has proven she is not a person that should be allowed in leadership!
If it were me I would have had a law suit delivered to her door

I would like to see the Officers file a complaint against her for fabricating such a garbage story.

Is this a case of racial profiling (Walking While Black) or race baiting, and should the dean resign?

Luckily the Chief of Police got on this quickly enough and had video evidence to support the reason she was stopped. Much to do about nothing here.

CPO Andy Carrillo, MS I see no reason that the Dean should have to resign from her job. On the other hand, she has placed herself is a situation where she might actually be faced with no other alternatives if / when this matter comes to the attention of the school's board.

I absolutely agree with your point that EVERY Police Officer should be outfitted with a bodycam, and all cars should have dash cams that can not be turned off by the officers driving. It is both accountability, and evidence, in cases like this one, and potentially in many others.

She is placed in charge of students being molded. Her attitude and lies prevent her from doing that in a professional and unbiased manner.

Dash and body cameras should be standard issue in all departments for this very reason.
