Is your Unit Commander encouraging use of RallyPoint?

Just wondering if you are being encouraged to use RP to connect to fellow service members or get ideas beneficial to your unit.

If he (or she) isn't encouraging the use of RallyPoint, SSG Izzy Abbass, they're missing the boat.

There are not many users in my unit really. I encourage what soldiers I can to use but only a few have taken me up on it. Most soldiers just want to use social media for other things than professional development.

Let me ask this then, are soldiers creating LinkedIn profiles or not so much. Granted, I'm sure a lot of them look at this as something way down the road.

I'm retired now - and I didn't know about RP until I after I retired in 2013. Still, to this day, I bring up RP with every military contact I have a conversation with to help with ANY aspect of their careers/life. Yes!

My Company and Battalion Commanders are not on RP. I encourage all of my Soldiers to create a profile and get involved, but not many actually do
