My VFW post (7400) has a good sized collection of uniforms and other memorabilia. We make this available to the general public on Veterans Day along with a piles of member owned items.

Does your VFW do this?

If so .. please post some pictures!

The post I belong to is small and there is an issue of maintaining the building.

This is beautiful!!! The one I am in has a pretty big display case that jammed with a lot of stuff but little of it newer than 25 years ago. That's pretty good I guess but it needs newer stuff for sure.

No..unless you count the occupants..ha!

Sadly, I believe that thefts have kept the displays to a minimum. We only have a few pics on the wall and a small glass case with a few hats. But I will bring it up and see if we cant improve it.

Thanks for the ideas..

Yeah pretty much. I tried to talk to some of the older Vets there and they would rather "Fund Raise" than fix the place up. It looks like a concrete cinder block bunker with old pictures and awards from the 70s and 80s. Kinda sad.
