With this latest threat, how concerned should the military be about its collective presence in Social Media? Are we going to see more attention paid to social footprints and OPSEC? Are more focused sites like RP a better option than the larger FaceTwit sites?
I am curious to see what actions the commands are going to take with this threat. I invite a discussion about this.

We are Thy Brother's Keeper. Thank you. Crazy to be waiting for the FBI to tell us. Brothers and Sisters take care of Brothers and Sisters.

The list included only officers? Talk about preferential treatment.........oh, wait a sec...lol. Why do I have the feeling that a bunch of operators, grunts, and RallyPoint members are updating the "100 list" with their current HOR?

Quiet, SFC Mark Merino... You also shouldn't mention that they might change the unit designation to something like 523rd Drone Maintenance Squadron...

I want to put my HOR out there, but I'm pretty sure my wife would lose her cool over that. I'm not really concerned, as there's a weapon by my bedroom window & the bedroom door, not to mention about everywhere else.

Be aware of your surroundings, sad but true there is not much of a difference between society and working in the prison; or down range. Just remember they are still just punks, and opportunist. Don't give them the satisfaction.

Always!!! One therapist's "hyper-vigilance" is another service member's "extreme situational awareness!"

Funny I have done all those, my plan is to live to the ripe age of 82 and to be shot by a jealous 25 year old husband so I will be vigilant for the next 22 years.

That's why I live in Wyoming, you never know who is carrying what kind of weapons, that residents of this fine state. Or where said weapons maybe. I tell you, I feel safer letting my kids play outside here, where I'm away from any base, then I did back on Camp Pendleton.

I view it as another sign of just how impotent ISIS actually is, despite the propaganda. Most are Air Force, one is an Army tanker (They must be angry that he actually knows how to use their Iraqi paperweights) and the list is directed at no one in particular. They're just shouting into the wind and hoping some random person will do something about it.
As for Command, social media training by actual experts is recommended. I guarantee most of this info was gained from Facebook. Simple things like not having your address and phone number on it (even set to friends) and constantly checking authenticity on friend requests can stave off a bunch of problems. I'm guessing many of those service members either added a shill account as a friend or used an app/website that required access to their FB profile. It really isn't hard to drag an enormous amount of information out of social media without the person ever realizing they gave it away.

I will add that they can easily do a trace of known names which thanks to the internet it will display all names and then connect the dots. Which is the same thing we do with them. And best to play it safe and take it serious because prior to 911 no one listened to the chatter and those that did got shot down by management.

I want to see the list, to check for names that I might know. So if you have it the website please post it. Kind of foolish to expect to protect victims by not letting them see their names. I believe that the list was probably gained through Facebook and Twitter cross referencing articles on service members and matching names and locations. So please post. I advice all to check the names and if you recognize a name; apply We are our Brother's Keeper.

Gentlemen, thank you and I am debt to 1Lt Johnson, CPT Bilbrew, MSgt Copland, my name is not there but there are three names that are familiar to me, and two other servicemen members that I recognize from Spec Ops. I will also point out that there is one Service man that could pass for me. So a word of caution there is also danger if we look like one of the pictures. I advise all to practice Thy Brothers Keeper, and also remove all pictures from social media in uniform or rank.

They (DOD) have been telling us for some time to be careful on the www, social media etc. I would recommend you sterilize your social media site(s), just to be safe, if you are concerned. This site is particularly interesting, as we are all veterans here.
That said, let them come... They have to get through several obstacle belts, and then the FPF and FPL... and then the dogs, then the direct fire weapons, and we can finish them off the hatchet...
"19. Let the enemy come till he’s almost close enough to touch. Then let him have it and jump out and finish him up with your hatchet."

The first rangers were formed in Europe during the Middle Ages to protect the land, under the direction of their king, searching for bandits and criminals.nals.
