I really don't see that we have accomplished much. The US hasn't won a war since WWII and as long as we have a PC military fighting PC wars by PC rules of engagement we never will.

Before ISIS there was Al Queda, Before Al Queda was Hezbollah, Before that was Fatah/Black September, Bader Meinhoff. There will always be Religious and Non-Religious Young Zealots and Terrorist to fight, murder and kill for their "Ideal" of what Society Should be.

Daesh isn't as powerful as they would otherwise be... however they are not really weaker than they were a year ago either. We need to continue to support local allies in the region and go after both Daesh and number one reason Daesh exists (Al Assad). Not until Bashar Al Assad has fallen, will everyone turn their focus on Daesh.
