But the real question is...Are you aware of your own weaknesses – and how to work around them?

A cousin to “what’s your biggest weakness?,” this question also requires framing your dominant personality traits in a positive light. Perhaps your enemy would say you’re neurotic and controlling, when in fact you just have a completionist’s eye for detail, which will ensure no project is finished until all loose ends are tied and re-tied for peace of mind.

I have used that question ("What's your biggest weakness, considering what you know of this job?") as well as "What would your biggest detractor say about you?"

Both are excellent questions that get right to both someone's self-image as well as their social awareness.

For added points, it requires them to explain HOW they deal with needing to make corrections in how they perform.

Totally separately, they result in some great answers that .... shorten my decision-making process. Examples: "I don't like working with/for women" and "I don't like people telling me what to do." Okie, Dokie.

"He takes too long to complete projects, often finishing them just before they're due."
To which I respond that I want to make sure I turn in my best work and I like reviewing and re-reviewing last minute so I can make sure everything is as perfect as I can make it.

This was especially true when I was still active duty and I had to give monthly IA briefs to my CO.
