What is your opinion if Veterans had the ability to use funds they have earned with the GI Bill to help create a small business. Let's face it many Veterans are not interested in college for 4 years to come out and start on The bottom. (Nothing agains college but it's not for all) My idea would allow the Veteran to work underneath another Veteran or civilian as an OJT in a small business environment . They would give hem money for startup costs , training, coaching ,marketing money, food , housing etc for the first year of starting a Busness. My idea would be to allow the Veteran to create a small Business that he/she can sustain for many years. This would allow them to decrease Veteran unemployment and hopefully homelessness. Right now there are some grant programs that allow for W-2 employees to get some help but this would be building small business that will let them grow and be the boss. I am a Realtor and this would especially work in my field because the first year costs are very high but if you make it the first year it can be a very lucrative career. Sorry for being so long..thoughts?
