I recently ETS'd and have quickly realized that I actually would rather be in the Army on active duty. Is it too late? What are my options?

Take your DD 214 and get to your nearest recruiter STAT. Stop for red lights and pedestrians but nothing else on your way there.

Don't waste any time. Get into a recruiter's office asap.

Jump very quickly into the Reserves or Guard. That'll get you one big fat foot in the door.

Go see a recruiter to see if it is possible. Depending on the needs of the Army, they may not want prior service in your MOS. Guard and Reserve are always good options.

Well you might have to come in as needs of the ARMY and not get your old MOS. But I would run not walk to the nearest recruiter!

You're likely still on IRR status. Get to your recruiter. Swapping from IRR to Reserves or NG or Active. Use anything you can to get your foot back in the door, and then use that to shove your entire body back in.

As long as you meet the requirements to enlist as a prior service member you will be fine. Good luck!

It is not impossible -- but this will likely be very difficult for you to do.
