I wish I could find a better source for this video, but a Facebook link is the best I can do. Basically, it reports that you are 7X more likely to be murdered, 15X more likely to be killed in an auto accident, and 42X more likely to be raped than to experience excessive police brutality. Other sources of crime statistics that I've checked seem to bear out the facts presented in this video.

I spent over 30 years as a police officer in a Southern city and I donhdt use force (nightstick) more the once or twice a year. Police bruitility is an excuse for the individuals poor decisions and conduct. How can a criminal expect to win fighting 3 or 4 cops? Are there cops who use excessive once? Yes but they are a monority and don't last long. Now you want to se Police Bruitility? Take on a couple of MPs on a Saturday night in Columbus Georgia in the early 50s. Now THATS bruitility. :):)

Here's A Clue:

US police don't end up solving most crimes - Insider
http://www.insider.com/police-dont-solve-most-violent...
The data suggest that most of the other 54.5% of violent crimes and 82.4% of property crimes in 2018 went unsolved, though there are a few caveats to the FBI's data that are important to note — namely, that it's possible some of those crimes will be solved in subsequent years for which the FBI has not yet published data.

The study found that undocumented immigrants had substantially lower crime rates than native-born citizens and legal immigrants across a range of felony offenses. Relative to undocumented immigrants, U.S.-born citizens are over 2 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and over 4 times more likely to be arrested for property crimes."

Family of Indigenous man want to hear from person who filmed arrest by Hamilton police officer

“Patrick Tomchuk’s family was in court for his bail hearing on Wednesday, where they saw the footage of the 32-year-old being arrested at a gas station on the Hamilton mountain on May 26.

The video, which cannot be released by the court, shows Tomchuk being pinned to the ground near a gas pump, surrounded by officers. One can be seen repeatedly kicking him in the head and stepping on him, holding his head down with his foot, even after it appears Tomchuk has lost consciousness.”

* Hamilton’s police chief called the video “disturbing” while speaking to media outside the central police station on Tuesday, adding that Tomchuk was suspended as soon as investigators saw the footage.

2.) Video played in court shows Hamilton police officer ‘stomping’ Indigenous man on head during arrestMEERI News

Warning: This story contains disturbing details

Hamilton Police Services (HPS) Constable Brian Wayne in May, a video played in court and seen by CBC Hamilton.

Jennifer Steinbeck, Tomchuk’s lawyer, showed the video during a bail hearing Wednesday at the John Sopinka Courthouse.

* In the video, several officers are seen tackling Tomchuk between gas station pumps. The officers forcibly maneuvered the man, while shouting at him in front of the constable. Wayne kicks Tomchuk in the head, then repeatedly stomps his head into the pavement.

* Tomchuk appears unconscious in most of the videos.

* Before the video was played in court, Tomchuk’s children were asked to leave the room. Tomchuk’s family members, who survived including his mother, sister and cousins, wept after watching the video.

** Wayne was suspended following the incident, and later charged with assault on June 16 following an HPS investigation.

** Baldwin said the family wants to share the video to raise awareness about police brutality against Indigenous people.

** His recommendations included a third-party investigation into the assault, for HPS to consider charging Van with a hate crime, HPS to investigate previous alleged assaults on Tomchuk and for police to wear body cameras, among others.

“This needs to be stopped. Education, prevention and accountability should be law enforcement’s highest priority,” Davis said.

Follow the Officer's instructions. Be polite and courteous; or, at the very least, be civil. It's okay to know your rights and advise the Officer of them but be sure of your legal facts; what might seem like your right could be very much otherwise under the circumstances.

The Officer does not know you; you are a stranger, who could do anything, including harm the Officer or anybody else. The Officer has only statistics associated with your population group. Your safety, the Officer's safety, and the safety of everybody nearby depends on a smooth, civil interaction between you and the Officer.

Do this, and your chances of being harmed drop to below being struck by lightning.

I’ve spoken highly of both MP’s and the UMCJ since my time in service compared to civilian police, the lack of transparency and accountability on the latter is pathetic.

There’s almost INSTANT accountability if a MP { Military Police } crosses the line w/o the “Protect The Blue Wall” B.S. when dealing with law enforcement on post.

Solider or Civilian can go to the Provost Marshal General office and file a complete that will be :

A.) Taken seriously

B.) Will be documented and followed through.

C.) If the complaint is found to be unfounded, that will be addressed also to be dealt with appropriately … as it should.

D.) Depending on the complaint and how serious the violation, CID/AG will get involved if necessary.

Also Garrison Command & the Post Commanding General will be made aware of such violations by MP’s under their command.

Policing is necessary, police brutality is pure B.S.

U.S. Army Office of the Provost Marshal General

3.) A Study of Police Offifficers with Military Service Backgrounds Compared to Police Offifficers without Military Service: Can Military Veterans Interact and Properly Engage the Public?

John F. Hussey
The Graduate Center, City University of New York

* “The quantitative research concluded that police officers with military experience are less likely to have civilian complaints filed against them for unprofessional behavior than police officers who do not have military experience. The qualitative data provided a positive perception of police officers with military experience regarding their ability to serve as police officers and interact with the community. Lastly, the qualitative data as provided by police officers who have military experience via Survey Monkey concluded that military experience was beneficial to their service as police officers.”

It’s not just isolated incidents in a small timeframe.

It’s a on-going … well documented problem.

Throughout the USA.

5.) Milwaukee Police Department

During the 1950s and 1960s, the Milwaukee Police Department was accused of brutality and oppression directed at the Black community.

In 1958, the local Black community criticized the Milwaukee Police Department after a cover-up in the death of 22-year-old Daniel Bell. Police Chief Harold Breier remained adamantly opposed to civil rights activities that went on in the city. After the Youth Council’s 1966 Eagles Club protests in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Breier began a constant surveillance of the group, as well as its advisor, Father James Groppi.

The policemen assigned to the watches would often harass Youth Council members and jail them for offenses as minor as littering or jaywalking. During marches, many police officers often heckled Youth Council and Commando members.

“Dalvin Gadson, who served in the Army National Guard as a helicopter mechanic, claims he was racially profiled and subjected to a brutal attack by multiple police officers in Colorado Springs while others looked on and didn’t intervene after he was pulled over for his car failing to display its tags in October.

One of the photos taken in the aftermath of the beating shows an officer smiling while displaying what appears to be a bruised knuckle, presumably from the

3.) Update: CSPD officers shown on video beating homeless veteran

* Pam Zubeck Dec 12, 2022 Updated 3 hrs ago

“It is imperative that we look at all the facts when evaluating officer interactions with citizens," Police Chief Adrian Vasquez said in the statement. "We will respect the on-going court process but welcome dialogue with our community when we are free to talk about this case further.”

When Gadson refused to get out of his car because he didn’t understand why he was being detained, the officers attempted to force him out, punching him repeatedly in the head and face.

The beating continued even after Gadson was out of the car with the officers punching and kicking him in the head and back," according to the release.

Daniels cited photos of his client as evidence, calling him a homeless veteran living out of his car while he tried to re-enlist. "But all these officers saw was a black man and they beat him for it, smiling for the camera as he lay on the ground bleeding,” Daniels said in the release.

“They beat him mercilessly and now he’s afraid to go outside and the VA can’t see him to treat his injuries and PTSD until January.”
