My unit was informed two weeks ago that we were going to SRP II.  Upon arrival to drill one week ago, we signed the typical UCMJ paperwork/memo that we would be AWOL if we didn't show for this exam coming up very rapidly. Three days after this we got an email stating it was a no go.

My (reserve) units window opens in may.. So does this mean we are not getting deployed? I wouldn't mind either way because I'm a college senior anticipating graduation in Dec 2014.  However, if the opportunity arose to serve, I would love to.

I get that there is a draw down.  I'm just curious if anyone else ever had a similar experience. Also, a lot of my graduation requirements are riding heavily on how I do over the next couple months.

So, if SRP gets cancelled is it likely that it will be rescheduled?

Thank you.

I'm new to all of this... As you've probably noted.

My advice to you would be to talk to the leaders in your unit.  They will have the most up to date information that is specific to your unit.  While there is a wealth of knowledge here, most of us would be giving you tales of "what is was like when it happened to me or my unit."  Those aren't the answers that you need.  You need to get it form your chain of command.  I am sure that you are not the only one in your unit with these types of questions and concerns.

SPC Berkebile, don't infer anything based upon a cancellation. Wait for your chain of command to pass down word on what's going on. There could be any number of reasons an SRP was cancelled or rescheduled. Keep driving on with your last known good information from your leadership and good luck!!
