I am very interested in lat moving to this as it has been what I wanted as a MOS prior to enlisting. I am just curious as if anyone can give more further insight for the whole week long screening process? Also, I am not confident that I will be able to obtain a top secret clearance. Is there a waiver for this or is it all or nothing? I was also told by someone that is Navy EOD to reach out the the local EOD unit to try to get an endorsement from them prior to the screening to help speed my process along or to get a foot further in the door. Any truth or information on this?

The biggest issue with a Clearance is being Honest on the forms. My old Intel Chief was a CONVICTED FELON (Grand Theft Auto). They don't actually care what you did, they just don't want you lying about it. Yes, there are disqualifiers, but let them do it, not you.

One of my Snipers lat-moved to EOD (from 03xx). He said he enjoyed the hell out of it.

There are no waivers for anything. We're going to look through your SRB first before we even look at anything else.

Your lack of confidence in obtaining a TS is concerning. I can understand uncertainty... But you need to be confident. Also, have you talked to your career jammer (planner), Intel and local EOD yet? If not I would.

Career planner, yes. Local EOD, kinda at a local military event. With clearance I'm just worried because of credit score. I heard that is a huge part of it.

Credit is a big part, yes. Do not let what we don't know discourage you.
Seek out your intelligence section. Talk to them about it. Likely speak with a Sgt or Captain or someone that knows their shit. I advise that you do NOT speak to the boot about this.
Simply find someone in the Intell section and tell them you want to speak with them about obtaining a TS and your concern is with your credit. Let them drive the train from there.
