Most everyone in the Army know about the Specialist Mafia, but do many know about the League of Disgruntled Majors? I did not until I was deployed and rarely hear of it now. That may be due to being assigned at lower levels that have fewer Majors and most are in leadership positions. Did you know about this organization?

That's funny. I do remember how my Co CDRs used to complain about the LTs forming their own union. Don't remember what they called it. Guess it depends on the unit and current command climate across the military.

Never heard of it, but in retrospect, I believe I may have crossed paths with several members of this organization during my career! Sure does explain a lot! LOL!

Ha never heard of that group but its not surprising, I always thought MAJ was an odd rank in that I never ran into many of them (shaming) and was never sure what the ones I did meet actually did (ambiguity).

I wonder if the people responsible for the website were ever reprimanded, that is, if anyone found out who they were. When I was an XO, the Commandant of the Transportation Officer Basic Course sent my Commander a letter alerting us to the online activity of an incoming 2LT. This was in 2007. It turns out the 2LT's name popped up on a blog commenting negatively on aspects of TOBC to include it's instructors at the time. Poor form, I suppose.

The topic is still alive and well as can be seen in the below thread "Angry Iron Majors (A.I.M.) posted Feb 29, 2016.

It's easy to be flip, but most staff work is done...redone....reformatted...and can't be done by MANs who suffer the brunt of expectation fatigue and ethical fadding. Majors suffer the slings and arrows of uninformed decsions that must be executed despite the fact that systems of record are flawed....G6 has stripped any use automation functionality....(I could go on with the venting...but nobody cares)

Never heard of it, and wouldn't be impressed by me peers if they thought this was a valuable use of their time.

Actually heard about it when I was in Cambodia from the MLO at the Embassy. Although the cut point for senior officers is O-5 for the Navy, there does seem to be a law of the universe when it comes to officer ranks. Gold attracts shit.

Anyone else out there a Turtle, like me?
