Some might think this video is extreme, and some may totally relate.
Personally, in one split second at about 2:15 is a girl that for all intents and purposes could be my daugher. And that's awesome.

When I was a kid, a girl taught me how to shoot a rifle. Then another girl taught me how to shoot it well.
I got to Basic and aced Basic Rifle Marksmanship and the Senior Drill Sergeant called me out and announced that I shot like "a real man."
Have I ever mentioned that sometimes I have a problem with my mouth engaging before my brain engages?
Yeah, I corrected him and happily announced that I was trying to shoot like a girl.
About 14,000,000 push-ups later, the Senior Drill talked to me about it - and I was tasked with helping some of our non-shooters get qualified.
I'm happier than hell to be able to shoot like a girl. Some day, I hope to be able to shoot BETTER than the two women that taught me...
and one was my MOM!

Love that! And I hope that when my teenage son is all grownup, he has the same respect for his mom that you have for yours. Not that he doesn't now, of course, just hoping he's proud and confident to show it to thousands like you have.

Colonel all I can say is that I wish that there had been a short video like this when I was a Company Commander. I was not always easy to build up my ladies self esteem, but this might have helped. I really appreciate the share.

Mine too...growing up, she played hockey on the boys team. And they only wished they could skate like a girl.
