I would have advised myself to stay in military until retirement. In addition, I would have earned my bachelor's degree and go to OTS. I made E-5 in two years, was soldier of the month 3 times and soldier of the year for entire post in Fort Benning. I went to the board for E-6 at 2 & half years aced it. I was 6th on the list of 600. I was higher than many that had been in the Army 15 years. I was going places and kick myself in the behind for leaving the military

Don't get me wrong. When I was in the army, only 1% of army personnel were women. There was a great deal of sexual abuse. I dealt with it and pretended I was a dumb blond(my IQ is 142) For instance, when asked if I wanted to give oral sex, my response was I don't mind talking about sex; I just don't want to do it.

I think I would go with the idea of "Observe, but don't touch." It seems that any interference with events would cause a change in history. I would hate to think that something I did on my return to the past would possibly cause a cosmic shift in the future. For example, changing the events of my life way back when could mean that I would never meet my wife, or have 7 kids, or be as comfortable as I am in being me. I hope this makes sense to you, it's a hard concept to explain.

I understand, even if I don't entirely agree. But you have a point: I have mostly very much enjoyed my life, but if I followed that advice I would give, it could improve things a lot, yet the parts I now cherish about my past may not have occurred. At least, however, I wouldn't know it...

PO2 Joan MacNeill It really requires some deep, deep thought, along with the science fiction of time travel to get a grip on it. Actually, it's a bit mind-numbing.

MAJ Karl Swenson I'm a firm believer in the paranormal and supernatural-- a true "conspiracy theorist-realist"-- but I've come to accept that God the Creator is in command of things above, in and beneath the earth and all dimensions, He plans and sustains all. That gives me relief.

I would tell my younger self to stay in the Army and retire after 20 years to have some stable income. You will always need to work, but where else can you have a nice retirement at the age of 38?

I meant to have retirement as a stable supplement to earned wages, not to stop working. I'm still working.

Would tell my younger self stay in the NAVY so that I could retire after twenty years of service.
