Buy a property at every duty station you have and never sell them. When your duty station changes find an exmilitary realtor and request he only rents your house to active duty military members. Then enjoy your retirement in 20-30 years

Take chances. Jump on every opportunity that crossed my path that I was either afraid or too cautious to take.

If I had to do it over again, hard one. But I would work on college courses and finish RN degree and apply for officer school. BUT what makes it hard is that I would not have met my first husband and had my 2 beautiful children that are adults and parents, doing great. In fact my son is a Marine, put in 2 years in Japan and 1 year in Okinawa, and 1 year in CA. He was third generation Veteran in my family.

I would advise myself to watch out for pitfalls like over use of alcohol and taking questionable shortcuts knowing the outcome will probably not be successful.

Do what I ended up doing for a living sooner. Not let the naysayers influence me.

I would tell myself, don’t ever set “safe” goals. If a goal will not push you outside of your comfort zone, it is a waste of time. Set goals that push and stretch you, so you will be reshaped into the best version of yourself.

Yes and I might add never be afraid to face a challenge in your assignments. Most find what appears to be a difficult assignment easier than thought if they truly apply themselves and use the ability some never knew they had it in them, they will be fine.

I always felt I was a self starter. There were time when I made my "leaders" lead me. From time to time I became the dumbest person on earth. But I did that ONLY when it was needed.
