My Ugly Stick and I have fished in numerous states. Fishing on a boat is cool, but there's a serenity with fishing on land by a stream or lake. Set up a chair with a cooler and time. All day or all night.

Float tubes are a great way to fish if you have water where it's safe to do so. Very therapeutic to the back and knees with swim fins.

SGT John Overby - No but I'm too old to outrun a snake and even though I realize that is not likely to happen again I'd rather use it as a reason for a sport I consider to be as exciting as Will Rogers found golf to be. So like I said on my first comment y'all have fun.

Some of the best times I had with my grandpa (wwII- army ssgt) was sitting on the side of a river fishing. He would tell me stories of the war, often with tears in his eyes. I can’t imagine what it was like in his head. But I cherish the time I got with him!

GySgt Charles Urban - I only hunted for what we were planning to eat, same with fishing. I didn't keep it if we were not going to eat it. My hunting had dual purpose. We ate what we hunted and I did taxidermy on the skins. I still do taxidermy but I don't kill anything. I pick up quite a bit if road kill or get skins from others.

My favorite fishing spot is on Lake St Clair behind the old hospital building on Selfridge Air National Guard base. It is quiet and private and I can take my children there fishing and it's a safe and no one will disturb you for most of the day and you can catch Bass sunfish and perch

CW2 Ricki Gerlach Kinda like what I do with a bucket of St. Louis ribs - but I catch them with my teeth. And eventually, I release, and Gabby the Wonder Dog catches. Being the service dog that she is, she always makes sure there is no way I could accidentally step on a bone and hurt myself. THAT'S a well-trained Service Dog!

My favorite spot is the Colorado River just across the border from Blythe. One of the best places to get catfish. Spend the day on Saturday and most of Sunday and bring home at least 15 fish.

Fishing? I fished in the best place a guy or kid could. Northern Alaska. My dad was a power plant manager in a small inupiat eskimo village called Anaktuvuk pass. 75miles north of the artic circle, in gates of the artic national park in the Brooks Range. Ias a 12 year old, I would go fishing in the rivers for arctic char, white fish and grayling. Summer time I used a 4wheeler to get around and always took a rifle. Best summers for a kid period. The water was so clear and since it was on permafrost, you could sneak up on fish in tighter streams look down and see them swimming. I haven't fished since 1987. Haven't found a place like that, add in all the hunting. What would cost a lower 48 hunter $10 grand to hunt moose, cost me nothing. I definitely missed being there.

I love fishing anywhere with my two sons and son-in-law. By far my favorite place is Diamond lake in Eastern Oregon. You can catch many trout averaging 2 pounds each.

You didn't also happen to fish in Saginaw Bay? PO2 Joseph Chantiny lost his sense of taste, and probably smell, and now you say you've lost your memories?

Something bad is going on with the fishing!

Not so many three-eyed blind fish that can't remember a dad-gummed thing, but are they tasty?
How about a two-faced fryer?

Be careful about the bears. A hiker from California was pulled right out of her tent while she slept and killed by a bear recently. I have seen the tracks so I know they wander a large distance from their burrow or cave. Whatever happened to putting your food and smellables which is a fancy word for all items that smell good into a bear box and lock it up. Or suspending it high above your campsite between two trees for safe keeping. A snickers bar in your back pocket while you sleep may be the equivalent to chocolate frosting on a nice fat ham to a bear! Everyone fears the Grizzly but there are more black bear mauling's in the USA then those done by the Griz.
