I am currently with an MP battalion in a 12k slot I wouldn't mind remaining in the same branch but I also wouldn't mind reclassifying. I am not currently MOS designated.

I am currently the 1SG for a MP Company based out of Ocala, FL, but I have a detachment located in Jacksonville. It is one Platoon. If you want more information on this please send me an E-mail at [login to see]

Helpful response, SFC (Join to see)! I used to roam the Ocala National Forest with the 20th SFG(A) many years ago!

The Florida National Guard has several units in the area. !46th Signal, 111th Aviation, Finance in St Augustine, Combat Engineers in Lake City, ADA in Palatka and Daytona, and several at Camp Blanding. Feel free to contact me, Daniel Hermany, (Retired) [login to see] or contact SGM Bill Kessler (still active) [login to see] if you would like more specific info on any of these options! Good Luck!

Nice response MSG Daniel Hermany! I grew up in Jax, and went to Robert E. Lee HS when it was THE school! There have been many changes, so I don't know what it's like now, except that Duval County spent $millions on repairs and upgrades!

If you are inTN....why not go north to IN and become a Drill Sergeant?! I have openings...can reclass you to 11B and get you promoted to E5 quickly.

SPC (Join to see), elements of the 20th SFG(A), FLARNG, are located at Camp Blanding, FL, just south of Jacksonville.

MSG Daniel Hermany, when we jumped C-141s at Camp Blanding, we'd take off from NAS Jacksonville.
Although a commissioned officer gave the oath of enlistment to me, the man that actually did all the legwork (and really enlisted me) was then SGM Pete Morris (retired as a CW4). He was one serious SF trooper! He's retired, lives in Jax and we're friends to this day! I was in the 20th SFG(A), FLARNG from AUG69 to DEC71, after which I transferred to the 20th in the ALARNG.
